Kaitlyn Johnston

Kaitlyn Johnston is the editor of Boston.com, one of the most read news outlets in the region. She has led teams of journalists covering the city for more than a decade. 

Her work largely focuses on strategy and technology, bringing together digital journalism and user-centric experimentation. She has routinely launched and operationalized ambitious editorial experiences, including multiple site and section redesigns, innovation within community engagement, and the expansion of flagship brands such as Best of. Currently, she is also editing and guiding The B-Side, a start-up email and social media publication created for Gen Z.

She was previously the executive digital editor of Boston magazine and the digital editor of Pittsburgh magazine. She earned her M.S. in web development from Duquesne and studied journalism at IUP while working in local media.
